How EPTO works

• We represent the key public transport operators in Europe and bring international experience and expertise

• We promote the principles and values in our Mission Statement and Objectives, and seek to deliver the benefits these set out

• Membership is available to operators who have at least 80% of their turnover in Europe through competition for or in the market

• Members need to put resource in to get benefits, not just rely on others

• Members bear their own cost and pay a small subscription

• This funds secretariat and support in Brussels

• Each member appoints a Board member

• Board meets x6 per annum

• Members take decisions by consensus whenever possible

“EPTO, the European Passenger Transport Operators’ association, believes that high quality and efficient public transport is the key to the future delivery of economic, environmental and social wellbeing for Europe. We wish to work with, and share best practice with, officials and politicians in the EU and beyond to ensure that the benefits we can bring are shared as widely as possible. We seek to promote the advantages of the open market system to minimise the costs of public transport provision and provide the best service to all our customers, both individual and stakeholder.”
